TAKING ACTION TO SAVE THE OCEAN!
Ultramarine aims to inspire people who are successful doers to bring their skills to ocean conservation, and to bring ocean conservation into their fields.
We seek to broaden the set of capable people contributing to the cause of ocean conservation. We believe inspiration works best when a community develops meaningful bonds, which happens when people are both learning and having fun sharing new experiences.
We bring together luminaries from all around the world in four main categories:
Ocean Impact Investors
Policy & Research
Artists and Storytellers
Together we will once again catalyze action in an environment curated to form a community of mutual support.
The ULTRAMARINE community will gather in New York and Miami in 2022, and return to Necker Island in 2023, featuring a virtual event for its annual summit, with hosts and speakers, live streaming to our friends and family around the world!
We hope to see you there!

MEET THE FOUNDERS
Professional Kiteboarder and Ocean Defender
Born to parents who were passionate windsurfers, her entire family moved to the Dominican Republic when she was five to pursue their love of adventure and great beaches. When she was a teenager, she discovered her life’s passion: kiteboarding. She competed on the world tour for 10 years and along the way, her deep passion for the ocean has manifested into a number of creative, innovative, and impactful projects that combine watersports and ocean conservation, including ULTRAMARINE and the Cabarete Kite Festival event in the Dominican Republic.
Jeremy McKane is an Artist with a background in technology. At 18, he found himself working in a startup that would one day become (for a time) the world’s largest web hosting provider. Today the company is known as NTT VERIO. In that time the internet promised potential uses that we take for granted today. It was this early experience that provided an alternate perspective. As an artist, McKane’s work has been shown around the world that often includes a mixture of technology and thought-provoking imagery about our oceans. McKane uses Art to engage the public to do something about the threats facing the Ocean. He is also the founder of OCEAN™ that aims to protect Our Oceans by reducing enforcement expense and defining value with the biodiversity that exists within.
After hosting two successful events in 2019 and 2020 on Necker Island, as well as a virtual summit, live on May 30, 2020, the community has successfully:
+ BUILT A GLOBAL SUPPORT CAMPAIGN FOR #Antarctica2020
+ INFLUENCED THE CARIBBEAN TO FORM A PLEDGE BASED ON THE PALAU PLEDGE, THE FIRST BEING THE BRITISH VIRGIN ISLANDS
+ CREATED A GLOBAL YOUTH CAMPAIGN FOR PROTECTING 30% OCEAN BY 2030
